Bianco Trinoro 2022
ABOUT THE VINTAGE
2022 was characterized by a very harsh winter with temperatures below average, which kept the vines in a prolonged dormant state.
Budding was regular and we experienced an unusual April with temperatures above the daytime average. Spring rains assisted in the growth and closure of the clusters, resulting in beautiful fruit.
Summer was scorching but the water reserves and autumn fertilization played a crucial role in avoiding stress for our vines. We refrained from leaf thinning to keep the clusters covered and prevent sunburn. We started our green harvest a bit early to allow the vine to support the best clusters. In mid-August, the long-awaited rain finally arrived and radically changed the course of the vintage, turning around a year that had been dominated by heat until then.
The grapes for the 2022 Bianco di Trinoro were handpicked on September 7th, on a cold morning in our small Semillon vineyard – approximately half a hectare / 1.25 acres located at 630 meters / 2000 feet above sea level. This vineyard was planted between 2001 and 2006 and hosts 5000 plants.
The fermentation of the Semillon lasted approximately 10 days and took place partly in stainless steel and partly in small oak casks. The wine then aged in concrete tanks and we performed some racking to remove the fine lees. The Trinoro Bianco was bottled during the waning moon of July 2023. Total production: 1660 bottles.

Made with Semillon, this is a full-bodied white that treads elegantly, thanks to its waxy texture and the very lifted quality of the aromas. It does lack some freshness, but the wine has the textural grit to keep it going forward for some bottle age.”
