Sancaba 2018
The vintage was mostly cool and rainy, providing ideal conditions for the production of an elegant and flowery pinot noir. The abundant rainfalls of march, april and may were followed by more sporadic rain in june and july with even a little in august. The generous conditions of the vintage resulted in an abundant crop which called for major thinning during july and august, leaving about half the crop on the vines. The clear, dry conditions of september allowed for an optimal harvest management, with five pickings taking place between the 13th and 27th, each bringing healthy grapes with crunchy skins and fleshy pulps into the winery.
